pen-and-paper.jpgSince jumping into screenwriting a few years ago with my cousin Jonathan, I’ve found the internet to be an immensely useful tool in finding great information and resources to learn from along the way. I continue to seek out and learn from new resources often and so I thought I would occasionally post links to websites which I’ve found helpful and/or useful in one way or another along the way. If you have an interest in screenwriting, I hope you’ll find something here that helps make the learning process easier for you.

  • Screenwriting.info - I don’t think I’ve found a better site than this one so far. They teach you how to write a screenplay, how to format it and give some great advice on things you should and shouldn’t do.
  • Hollywood Lit Sales - Here’s a nice page with some useful writings tips and things you should keep in mind. They also talk about things you need to know after finishing your script. For example - should you find an agent?
  • John August - John has written the screenplays to some great films you’ve probably heard of. Do Big Fish and Corpse Bride ring a bell? John occasionally writes some very helpful tips on his blog. He also frequently responds to questions from readers.
  • Writers Store - If you’re a screenwriter or have any aspirations to be, you’re obviously going to need the proper supplies. You’ll find everything you need here.
