And so it begins…
Launched in November of 2007, IndieBlurb is the brain child of two self proclaimed movie addicts, Mike and Jonathan. We also happen to be cousins and screenwriting partners. It would be a flat out lie to say we are veterans of screenwriting, but it’s something we’re very passionate about. Having recently finished our first screenplay, we’re currently brewing ideas for our next.
Obviously when we’re not writing we love to watch movies. A lot of movies. As you might have guessed by now we have a soft spot for independent film, however that certainly doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy the Hollywood blockbusters as well. There’s just something about the indie flicks that captivates us.
Undoubtedly filmmakers have a lot more control with independent films, giving them the leeway to explore their vision and adapt a screenplay’s words into moving parts without so much fuss from the big studios. That’s perhaps a big part of the appeal of independent films for us. They’re often uncompromising and blunt in telling their tale. We like that.
What can you expect here?
Our goal at IndieBlurb will be to present to you diverse and interesting content related to independent films, and occasionally mainstream “Hollywood” films as well. News, featured articles, movie trailers, short films, DVD release information and whatever else that happens to come to mind will all be something you can look forward to here.
Because we have an interest in screenwriting, we also plan to feature content helpful to other budding screenwriters. If we find great resources which we think will be helpful, we’ll write about them. We hope you’ll stick around as the site grows and decide to become a regular reader. We’ll do our best not to disappoint you!
