Probably the worst thing about Big Bad Wolf though was how predictable it was. As soon as we were introduced to one particularly grumpy character, I said out loud, “he’s the werewolf.” I was right.

Released in 2004 and the winner of several awards including the Special Distinction Award for an ensemble cast at the Independent Spirit Awards, Mean Creek has become one of my most favorite independent films. Still to this day I find myself recommending it to others.

Though I knew the outcome of the story, I was still captivated by this film and for the most part on the edge of my seat. If you’re someone who has an interest in political thrillers, I highly recommend A Mighty Heart to you.
